The site was very quirky and quaint. Each cottage is unique. They are small and basic but provide enough for your needs. We had a double which had a covered porch with seating which was absolutely perfect as it extended the cottage. It didn't matter whether it was raining or not, it was a lovely place to sit and relax. All the cottages have outside seating but they are not all covered or private. The site itself is lovely with tree lined walkways down to the private beach and dock area. I spent many early mornings sat there, peacefully waiting to watch the sunrise and the hope of a manatee ok dolphin passing by. The staff were really nice and helped to make this a little piece of paradise. An issue with the first cottage we stayed in on our night of arrival was dealt with instantly and very effectively which was very reassuring to see. This led to us moving into our lovely little cottage while they addressed the issue.

The location is simply AMAZING. Overlooking a quiet private beach on the lagoon (on the Gulf of Mexico side of Key Largo). It's also an older resort which adds to the charm (but this also means one shouldn't expect brand new Hilton style resort amenities). Also there is plenty of space to relax and take in the sun (on the beach, on the piers etc...) with tables, benches, lawn chairs etc., and very nice green space between the cottages full of lush vegetation (with cats and even iguanas). I would definitely come here again! We had the largest of the cottages directly overlooking the small bay. It was really beautiful and spacious (albeit a bit expensive for only two people -- it comfortably fits 4-6 people though). Excellent place to relax at, or to explore the Keys from. Oh and it's also within walking distance to restaurants/bars (:

We got a really warm welcome when we arrived to check in. We arrived slightly early but the room was ready and they checked us in straight away which was great. Although rustic the room was comfortable the bed was comfortable and the shower was good and it had everything we needed. The beach front of the hotel is absolutely gorgeous easy to swim in the beautiful warm sea. They had docks out into the sea with chairs to sit on which was wonderful we loved sitting on them in the morning and at sunset to watch the sun go down with a drink. They was also kayaks to use which was great and we saw lots of manatee which was a wonderful experience. Loved this little place and would love to back

We chose Pelican Cove as an overnight break during a long drive down to Key West. We're so glad we did. Because we were staying only the one night, our accommodation was chalet standard rather than hotel room quality, but functional and comfortable none the less. But the show-stopper was the beach - sheltered, so not turbulent; great for swimming, snorkeling and kayaking, or just lazing the day away, it was a little piece of perfection. The staff were lovely - very helpful - and gave us a great recommendation for a nearby restaurant, where we had a fabulous meal and watched a spectacular sunset. I would highly recommend Pelican Cove to anyone.

Location is amazing, all the cottages have use of a private beach which was generally very quiet. The staff were very kind and generous, when they discovered it was our anniversary they upgraded our room to a larger one with a kitchen and sitting area. The apartment was spotlessly clean and had great facilities, lots of crockery and plenty of cooking utensils with a large microwave, full size fridge freezer and double hob. They gave a very useful information sheet which listed good places to eat and drink and this was really useful.
